1. Service Overview

BabelBot is a Discord bot that provides real-time message translation services. Our service includes:

• Automatic Language Detection: Detects the language of messages in your Discord server
• Message Translation: Translates non-English messages to English using AI-powered translation
• Free Tier: 50 free translations per server per month (free tier, resets on the 1st of each month)
• Premium Access: Advanced translation features available via monthly subscription (Starter/Advanced) or a one-time lifetime payment

2. Usage Rights

• Server administrators may authorize BabelBot installation in their Discord servers
• Users grant BabelBot permission to read and process messages for translation
• BabelBot may not be used for commercial purposes without written authorization
• Automated scraping, data harvesting, or abuse of the translation service is strictly prohibited
• You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract BabelBot's translation models
• Message content is processed solely for translation purposes and temporarily cached for service delivery

3. Administrator Responsibilities

As a server administrator, you agree to:

• Inform your server members that BabelBot is active and processing messages for translation
• Ensure your server members are aware they can opt-out using the /ignore-me command
• Comply with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction
• Not use BabelBot in channels where translation would violate user expectations of privacy
• Maintain appropriate channel permissions and server rules regarding automated message processing

5. Refund Policy

Due to the nature of our service (instant digital access), refunds are generally not available after payment. However, we provide a limited-time refund window:

• 7-Day Refund Window: Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if your server has processed fewer than 100 translations in total across all months

• Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Abuse of the refund policy may result in the denial of service

7. Service Availability and Support

• BabelBot operates on a best-effort basis. We aim for 99% uptime but make no guarantees
• Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or security reasons without notice
• Community support is available in our Discord server during limited hours. Professional support inquiries can be directed to our support email at support@babelbot.xyz
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue BabelBot features at any time, with reasonable notice to users

8. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use BabelBot for:

• Illegal activities or violating Discord's Terms of Service
• Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination
• Spam, phishing, or malware distribution
• Attempting to bypass rate limits, fraud protection, or payment verification
• Unauthorized access or tampering with the bot or our infrastructure
• Translating content intended to evade moderation filters or automated safety systems

Violations of this policy may result in termination of service and potential legal action.

9. Fair Use Policy

Each premium tier (Starter, Advanced, or Lifetime) includes a fair use limit of 1,000,000 characters per month per server. We may monitor usage and temporarily limit, suspend or propose an enterprise plan if usage materially exceeds this limit or degrades the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BabelBot and its creators provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Translation inaccuracies or misinterpretations
• Service interruptions or data loss
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access or bot manipulation
• Third-party actions or content
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of BabelBot

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes to these Terms:

• We will notify users via our official Support Server announcements
• We may send a one-time broadcast message through BabelBot in active translation channels
• The updated Terms will be posted on our website with a new effective date
• Changes become effective 7 days after notification

Continued use of BabelBot 7 days after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should remove BabelBot from your server before the effective date.
