Step 04: delivered
Lands as a reply
Translations appear under the original message. Reply delivery uses Embed by default and also supports Plain text.
Reply mode · Thread mode and message replacement also available
Prefer replies?
Reply delivery is the default, with Embed as its default presentation. Choose Plain text for translated text only with one target, or bold language labels for multiple target languages. If the output is too long, BabelBot moves it into a translation thread.

Busy room?
Thread mode tucks translations away so fast channels stay readable while nothing gets lost.

What you get
Everything happens inside Discord.
New messages translate automatically in the channels you enable. Members can also add a flag reaction or choose Translate Text for a single message. Anyone in a voice channel can start live voice chat translation with /voice start.
Choose how translations appear
Use replies, threads, linked language channels, or Replace the original. Replacement reposts human text in regular server text channels with the member's name and avatar, then deletes the original after confirmed delivery. Choose a different option for each channel and change it later.
Every plan
Flag reactions
React with a flag to choose the translation language. Admins decide whether BabelBot replies in the channel or sends the result in a private DM.

Voice chat translation
Live speech becomes readable text while the call is in progress, as clean speaker lines or detailed embeds.

Media translation
Screenshots, PDFs, voice notes, and video attachments are translated too. The venue-sign photo in the demo shows it in action.

Onboarding
Easy setup. About two minutes.
Guided onboarding connects BabelBot to your server, lets you choose target languages and where translations appear, then checks one test message. After that, automatic chat translation needs no extra setup.

One-time plan for one server
One automatic translation counts once, even with several target languages. Each translation posted to a linked channel and each on-demand request count separately. After the AI allowance, BabelBot keeps translating supported plain text in English, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and 30+ more supported languages. Other languages need AI quota.
FAQ
Before you add BabelBot
What is BabelBot?
BabelBot is a Discord translation bot for multilingual servers. One server plan covers every member. Choose replies, threads, or message replacement for automatic text translation. Paid plans add media translation. Ultra and Founder Access add live voice chat translation.
What does a BabelBot server plan cover?
One plan covers every member on that Discord server. Everyday chat is translated automatically. Members do not need commands for everyday messages. Paid plans add media translation, and Ultra plus Founder Access add live voice chat translation.
Can BabelBot translate every message into each member's own language?
Discord bots cannot show a different version of the same channel to each person. BabelBot offers replies, threads, message replacement, flag reactions, and separate linked language channels.
Which languages does BabelBot support?
The catalog has more than 130 languages. Free includes 2 target languages, Pro includes 5, and Ultra and Founder Access include 10. After AI quota runs out, English, Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and 30+ more supported languages continue translating. Other languages need AI quota.
Will translations flood my main channels?
You choose where translations show up. Use replies or threads, or replace automatic text messages with translations. Replacement applies to human text in regular server text channels. Add linked language channels if you need them.
Why use AI translations?
AI translations handle slang, mixed-language messages, and context. AI also powers media translation. Supported text uses AI while you have quota, then BabelBot's in-house translator continues it without a monthly limit.
What permissions does BabelBot need?
BabelBot needs to read and send messages, use threads, and add reactions when flag translations are enabled. Linked channels need Manage Webhooks. Replace the original needs View Channel, Read Message History, Manage Webhooks, and Manage Messages. Missing permissions are a common reason translations do not appear.
Does BabelBot store message content?
BabelBot processes messages to translate them. It stores bridge message links and can retain quoted reply-preview text, author names, and message links to keep replies synchronized. The dashboard stores details such as usage, limits, billing status, server settings, and safe setting-change summaries.
What does the free plan include?
Free includes 2 target languages. New servers get 100 AI translations to start. Eligible servers can add a one-time +100 Top.gg bonus. The plan then includes 50 AI translations per UTC month. After that, supported languages continue translating without a monthly limit. Media attachments and other languages need AI quota.
Can moderators control where BabelBot runs?
Yes. Admins can choose the channels, languages, and linked channels. Staff rooms, bot logs, and private channels can stay quiet.
